The legacy, the power, the drive- this is Barrett-Jackson. Almost 50 years ago, two car buffs, Russ Jackson and Tom Barrett were drawn together by a car destined to transfer hands at sale, a 1933 Cadillac V16 Town Car. Although the Caddy never did change hands between the men, a lifelong friendship put down roots and the legacy began to flourish. This was the humble beginnings of the powerhouse, “triple crown” of exotic car auctions known as Barrett-Jackson.
Walking into the front gates of Barrett-Jackson, one is immediately transported a world of hard, tough, raw, muscle and speed. The soaring stark white tents which line every which “road” are filled with every automotive imaginable. The marvels of yester-year grace the presence of the ultra sleek vehicles of tomorrow, all in some perfect unimaginable harmony.
Automotive hormones are raging. There is no where to hide except in the simple serenity of perfect design and incredibly executed power. This feeling was confirmed when the highest selling price from a vehicle was received from a 2011 Z06 Corvette for $297,000 U.S.D.
Overall, this event is an unparalleled experience for automotive enthusiasts and the ever-curious alike. Check out some of my personal favorite finds below.
